Summer Inspirations Page 4

This adorable baby
bishop is so very easy
to make!!

Stitch your favorite bishop
pattern using the angel
sleeve version.  Cut
the angel sleeve from
a piece of wide Swiss
embroidered trim,
placing the hemline of
the pattern at the
finished edge of the trim.

We've found that many
trims are wide enough
for up to a size four and
require only about 1  yard
to 1  1/4 yards of trim
(measure your pattern
to be sure).

The fabric we've used is Spechler-Vogel's Imperial microcheck
in light pink.  The smocking plate uses the bottom rows from
"Elizabeth" by Ellen McCarn.  This works best if you smock
a smaller number of rows than usual to show off the
embroidered trim.
