Adapting a Basic Bishop for
a Bishop Sundress

Carol has given us her directions to adapt a basic
bishop dress to make a bishop sundress:

Draw a line at the neckline of the bishop front to trim away
excess fabric.  The line should be 1  1/2" down from the
top at the center front and angle up to 1" down at the
     underarm.

On the bishop back, the line should extend from 2" down at
the center back up to 1  1/2" down at the underarm.

Tie the pleats off at a width appropriate for your child.

The bias strips should be 34" - 36" long depending on the size
and should be done in a contrasting fabric.  Allow enough
length to tie in a bow at the shoulders.  The same fabric is
     used to bind the armholes.
