What a beautiful Easter dress
Jan has made for her young
granddaughter, Lydia!

The pattern is Collars, etc's
"Dottie's Day Dress," and it
has been wonderfully made up
in Robert Kaufman's lilac
Vanessa voile.  This fabric is
100% cotton and has a
great sheen, as well as being
very reasonably priced.

 
   

 

 


The smocking plate is "Country French" from Lou Ann Lamar.
Jan has chosen to backsmock between the bands of geometric
smocking, though this area could be left unsmocked for
a puffing effect.  The collar and bias bands on the sleeves
are trimmed with a tiny tatted edging.  The center pleat offers
the perfect area to showcase special pearl buttons.
