The original pattern
was smocked around
the neckline, and the
skirt was gathered onto
the skirt yoke (the yoke
is hidden under the top).

The adaptation gathers
the blouse yoke to the
neckband.  The gathering
on the skirt becomes two
inverted pleats on the
skirt front and skirt back.
